About Me

“Dr. Lindsey” has a passion for counseling and advocating for children, teens, and adults who have survived all types of trauma. She utilizes various evidence-based treatment modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a type of cognitive therapy that uses eye movements to make more meaningful connections about previous life events. Lindsey also sees children and adults for depression, anxiety, and behavior disorders. She has a specialized interest in sexual dysfunction and clinical sexuality, as well as helping members of the LGBTQ+ community. She is an Individual Affiliate with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), where she serves as an Affiliate Advisor and is part of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Collaborative group. She is also a member of the Association for Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness (ACSSW), where she serves on the Education and Training Committee. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the EMDR International Association, and also serves as a clinical supervisor and counselor educator.

In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family back home in eastern Kentucky, attending local concerts, working out, and being in the woods with her husband and their two rescue coonhounds, Avett and Rosie.
