Provisionally Licensed Counselor | National Certified Counselor | Certified Anger Management Specialist, Level-I
My ideal client is an individual adult who comes to counseling to find peace and joy within their daily life. Struggles with low motivation, depressed mood, irritability, and difficulty controlling worry. Currently struggling with meaning and purpose in life and finds it difficult to see the positive with a heavy emphasis on negative thinking. Their goals are to achieve happiness within themselves so they can have better relationships with others.
I became a counselor because I desire to bring compassion and hope to those who are struggling with their mental health. Often, as we walk through challenging times, it can be hard to see what our strengths are. My goal is to help others find strength and resilience through self-awareness. I utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach to assist people to become more aware of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as well as how each aspect plays a role in an individual’s wellbeing. Together, we can work toward goals that align with the peace and happiness you aspire to have in your life. Remember, reaching out and asking for help is considered a strength.
Initiating counseling can seem like an intimidating task for a variety of reasons. Where I grew up, many of us were not encouraged to seek help and utilize resources for help, particularly when it comes to the topic of mental health. I take pride in providing a safe environment that is judgment free so individuals can find relief in talking about their struggles, rather than shame.
