Allison O’Konski – NCC
I’m a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and provisionally licensed counselor with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I’m based in the Wheeling office and offer in-person and telehealth sessions for adults (18+).
I take a client-centered approach and integrate various theories and techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. I love to help clients make connections, shift perspectives, build self-awareness, and break cycles that no longer serve them. Common areas of concern include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, trauma, and other related issues.
I follow each client’s lead for what they want to get out of therapy. Some need to vent and process their thoughts and feelings with a neutral person. Others are weighed down by their past and ready to heal from trauma. For some, the goal is to add coping skills or solve current problems. I respect that therapy looks different for everyone.
