Jeremy Starks, LGSW

I am a provider at our Charleston clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. As a therapist I can assist with helping understand a person’s mental health issues and how it impacts their thoughts, feelings, and choices. Helping clients make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts. This can help with making a person’s problem seem more manageable and can help address negative thoughts and improve the way a client feels about themselves and their life. Sessions would focus on developing coping skills, understanding their symptoms/feelings, and giving the client a space to be themselves and explore their feelings in an environment that is non-judgmental.

The ideal client would be one that is having issues with depression, anxiety, adjusting to life, trauma, and/or clients that are part of the LGBTQIA community and having issues with their sexuality/gender identity. Their needs would be to try to understand more about their mental health issues/needs and developing coping skills to address symptoms. Their goals would be to learn how to cope with ongoing symptoms, build healthy relationships, and learn to love themselves. Clients would want to participate in sessions, work to build coping skills, and overall invest in their life so that they can be happy with their life.

If you are struggling with sadness, anxiety, adjusting to life changes, loss, addiction, trauma, understanding your sexuality/gender identity, or just feeling overwhelmed by everything that seems to be weighing you down. Please know that you are not alone and that there are so many people out there going through similar things. Life can throw at you some of the best and worst that it has to offer but at the end of the day you deserve to have your voice heard, you deserve to have a place to discover and express yourself, and you deserve the quality of life that you want.
