Licensed Professional Counselor
Welcome! I’m Madison Barry, a mental health therapist based in West Virginia. I help adults overcome and lessen symptoms of depression, anxiety, personality disorders, bereavement, mood disorders, relationship issues, and trauma so they can achieve mental wellness and personal growth. I guide clients to learn what motivates them and how to become curious about themselves. My passion is to make a positive impact on my clients’ lives by helping them overcome challenges, improve their mental health, and find happiness.
My therapeutic approach is personalized and rooted in the latest research, designed to help my clients gain the tools and confidence to face life’s challenges. Pillars of my practice include nonjudgmental, genuine, direct, and kind care. I utilize trauma-informed care practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and other techniques as needed. I enjoy working with a diverse client population including adults, adolescents, elderly, LGBTQIA+, people of color, and people with physical disabilities.
Therapy can be challenging at times, but a strong therapeutic rapport can help create resiliency, trust, and strength for the relationship. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and treasured. I graduated with my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Waynesburg University in 2022 after obtaining my bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice from WV Wesleyan in 2020. In my personal life I enjoy reading, listening to music, going for walks, and playing with my dog Bailey.
