1. Pancakes with Berries & Whipped Cream

You’ll need:

  • pancake mix;
  • fresh berries;
  • whipped cream.

Pancakes are classic comfort food. They’re even better when they’re topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. This recipe is easy to follow and only takes a few minutes to make.

Begin by mixing the pancake batter according to the instructions on the package. Then, heat up a griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Once it’s hot, use a ladle or measuring cup to pour the batter onto the griddle. Make sure to spread it out into a circle. Cook for one minute or until bubbles begin to form. Then flip the pancake and cook for an additional minute.

Remove from the heat and top with fresh berries and whipped cream. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

2. Grilled Cheese Sandwich

You’ll need:

  • slices of bread;
  • butter;
  • cheese slices;
  • canned soup.

Start by buttering the slices of bread on one side. Then, place the cheese slices on top of the bread. Follow it by a spoonful or two of canned soup. We like to use tomato soup but feel free to use your favorite flavor. Once the toppings are in place, put the two slices of bread together, buttered side in.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the pan. Cook until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Slice in half and enjoy!

3. Mac and Cheese

You’ll need:

  • box of elbow pasta;
  • butter;
  • flour;
  • milk;
  • salt;
  • pepper;
  • cheddar cheese.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the elbow pasta according to the package instructions. While the pasta is boiling, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and whisk together. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking until combined. Season with salt and pepper then let it thicken for about five minutes.

Once thickened, add in as much cheddar cheese as you’d like until melted. Then add the cooked pasta. Serve immediately.

4. Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza

You’ll need:

  • pizza dough;
  • yellow onion;
  • green bell pepper;
  • ground beef;
  • tomato sauce;
  • salt;
  • oregano;
  • garlic powder.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Roll out the pizza dough and place it in a greased baking dish. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, leaving about an inch around the edge. Top with onions, peppers, ground beef, salt, oregano, and garlic powder.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Slice and serve immediately.

5. Matzo Ball Soup

You’ll need:

  • matzo balls;
  • chicken broth;
  • carrots;
  • celery;
  • fresh parsley.

Bring chicken broth to a boil. Add carrots and celery and simmer for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare matzo balls according to package instructions. Add matzo balls to the soup and simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
