My ideal client is an adolescent who is struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and is exhibiting behavioral issues due to the stress associated with their symptoms. They desire to relieve or be able to adequately manage their symptoms. Their goals are to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem, and eliminate acting out behaviors. They present these as their goals as they desire to “fit in” and be a “normal” functioning teenager.
I have over 18 years of experience working primarily with the child and adolescent population. I have over 13 years of experience as a mental health counselor. I have worked in a multitude of settings including: outpatient (in-home/in-school), intensive outpatient (behavioral day program), residential/long-term treatment facilities, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and private practice setting. I have treated a broad range of conditions and diagnoses including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, behavioral issues, autism, substance abuse, personality disorders, etc. I am an empathic, caring, non-judgmental clinician, and provide a safe space for clients to open up about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I want my clients to know I support them and am available for them as I know adolescents often feel as though they have no one who truly understands them and/or what they are going through.
